| Our
volunteers consist of many people from different backgrounds,
ages, and qualifications. Helping others can be a rewarding
experience! Some of our volunteers are also earning college
credit through classes at SIU in the social work, psychology,
and health education departments.
Most of our volunteers work a 2-4 hour shift on a weekly basis.
All of our volunteers go through a training process supervised
by one of our directors. Duties range from answering phones,
dispersing donations, and helping clients one-on-one who find
themselves in a difficult situation.
